Pass-Thru Tax Assessments
Read or Listen NOW!
Residents should be aware that Dec 2026 and Jan-Dec 2027 billing statements are expected to include the annual pass-thru tax assessments increases. You can be certain that, Hillsborough County will increase the 2026 tax assessment, as Florida Statutes 193.155 generally allows assessed values on properties like Strawberry Ridge to increase by up to 10% per year. For comparison, in Jan 2026, the monthly pass-thru tax charged to Residents increased from $112.61 to $121.07 per household. Before that, in Dec 2025, every household was charged a one-time catch-up tax assessment of $101.56, which was an unexpected expense for many, Residents at the time. Combined, these increases represented a 15% year-over-year increase. Residents may want to budget for the possibility of a similar one-time assessment appearing on their December 2026 statement and a similar increase on their 2027 monthly tax bill. There is always a slim possibility that the tax assessments could remain unchanged, but based on the three increases over the past four years, Residents should be prepared for another increase instead of assuming there won't be one.
